PilatesStudio 34: Yoga | Healing | Arts offers Pilates classes, as well as private and semi-private sessions, for all skill levels. Taught by Julia Naftulin, Pilates is a great way to develop functional strength, range of motion, and flexibility.

In the 1920s, Joseph Pilates created a system of controlled, precise movements he called "Contrology." Emphasizing alignment, concentration, and breathing, these resistance-based exercises are designed to bring the body back into proportion by building core muscles.

Julia's group classes, which stress flexibility and core-strengthening, will use the mat and small equipment. Private sessions, which are tailored to individual needs and goals, can add specialized equipment such as the Wunda Chair and the Cadillac.

PilatesWhether you are interested in getting stronger, stretching, increasing energy, recovering from injury, or are simply looking for a new and effective form of exercise, the Pilates method is well worth a try!
