Melissa Ameika began studying Reiki at The Reiki School and Clinic in 2005 with the intention of learning a technique that she could practice on herself to help ease chronic pain. Surprised by the level of emotional, physical and spiritual healing she found, she decided to teach others this amazing energy practice and received her teacher certificate in June of 2009. In addition to practicing and teaching she volunteered giving Reiki to shelter animals in Philadelphia’s PACCA facility. A strong advocate for holistic integrative medicine, Melissa currently volunteers giving Reiki to cancer patients at the Abramson Cancer Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
