What to expect in a somatic movement session
One-on-one programs with Lee combine Reiki (Japanese energy healing) and innovative somatic methods (involving dialogue, breath, sound, gentle movement, rest, visualization, tracking inner movements of sensation and image, support through touch, witnessing, sensing into body systems, and identifying inner resources) to support your body’s profound wisdom for creative self-regulation, healing, and living in alignment with your core needs and desires.
Among the benefits clients experience are: greater ease and range of movement, relief from physiological and emotional distress (including conditions that affect breathing, digestion, sleep, etc.), support in recovering from injury, pain and illness, nervous-system relaxation and stress reduction, increased body awareness, comfort and groundedness, heightened clarity and focus, enhanced vitality and creativity, resources for wellness and self-healing, and aligning visions and goals with the body’s needs and wisdom.
All one-on-one programs are co-created according to your needs and interests! Call or email Lee to find out more through a FREE Consultation!

About me
A life-long teacher and interdisciplinary artist, I have extensive experience teaching the arts, creative movement, and mind-body centering practices to people of all ages. I have taught in colleges, yoga and dance studios, camps, grade schools, women’s shelters, faith communities, and HIV/AIDS wellness organizations. As a somatic movement educator I work from the premise that our bodies are rich with meaning and resources for wellness. While much of my teaching and creative work focuses on awareness of subtle inner movements, I also have a deep love of improvisational dancing including Five Rhythms, free improvisation, and Contact Improvisation. I am a founder of the Philly Contact Collective and have performed for several independent choreographers in Philadelphia and beyond. From my perspective, movement is not only a way of life – Movement is life. Attending to movements both large and small is therefore an essential practice for enhancing our lives.
I recognize the importance of creative safe spaces for people of every walk of life. My aim is to offer fair and supportive services to people of any age, race, nationality, socio-economic background, spiritual or religious affiliation, gender, sexual orientation, career path, etc.
Education and other credentials
I began my somatic studies nearly a decade ago at Oberlin College, where I studied interdisciplinary arts with an intensive focus on improvisational dance/movement, and installation art. After college I spent a year teaching somatic and creative arts in New Orleans, where I also studied Reiki at the Reiki Center of New Orleans. Since returning to practice in the Philadelphia area, I have become an insured Body-Mind practitioner of IDEA Fitness and Wellness and completed my Masters in Dance and Somatic Well-being through the University of Central Lancashire.
